FPL: How 1,000 Energy Efficiency Experts Help Keep Energy Bills Low

Feb 10, 2012 – FPL: We work hard every day to ensure our residential customers have the lowest electric bills in the state. One way we do that is by using the expertise of our Corporate Operational Excellence group — with more than 1,000 employees trained in quality techniques. Their projects focus on doing things in smarter, more efficient ways such as modernizing power plants to reduce fuel costs and installing advanced technologies to help prevent potential power problems. These efforts have resulted in savings of more than $140 million — allowing us to keep our operating costs among the lowest of any electric utility in the country.
