Houston Has Solar Parking Meters
Jun 8, 2010 – I was in Houston recently & saw that they have units that are solar powered to bill credit cards and dispense parking meter receipts to put on your dashboard to show that you paid to park. Does your city have these? Besides not drawing electricity from the grid, they are easier to install as there are no electric lines to tap into. I don’t have any figures for the amount of electricity saved. It can’t be much, but every bit helps cut down on deep water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
