How Many Gadgets Do You Have?
July 10, 2009 – How much energy are you using to power your must-have gadgets? The Paris-based International Energy Agency estimates that new electronic gadgets will triple their energy consumption to 1,700 terawatt hours by 2030. There would need to be an additional 200 new nuclear plants to power all the TV, iPods, PCs and other gadgets. Electronic gadgets now account for ~ 15% of residential electric consumption.
