Target Testing Wind Power

Apr 12, 2009 – Alexandra Clough reports in the Palm Beach Post that Target may install a 100-ft windmill at a new store set to open in West Palm Beach this fall and use it to produce 5% of the store’s energy according to Lois Frankel, mayor of West Palm Beach.  The windmill would be from SkyDrill Power Systems of Fort Worth, TX according to Patrick Nolan, vice president of SkyDrill.  Target is interested in using alternative energy for other locations.  Nolan said the windmill is designed to be quiet, bird-friendly and withstand 130 mph winds, which is necessary in hurricane prone Florida.  Please leave your comments concerning other windmill projects.
