Now Jad Mouawad at The New York Times has addressed the same issue in his article, “Not So Green After All: Alternative Fuel Still a Dalliance For Old Giants.” “Royal Dutch Shell has announced that is freezing [an ominous verb to use] it research and investments in wind, solar and hydrogen power.” However, it is noted that it will focus on biofuels. Mouawad notes that BP is moving back to petroleum since 2007. Nevertheless, they have been publishing “green” ads touting their efforts outside of petroleum. “Rex W. Tillerson, the chief executive of ExxonMobil, said after the election of President Barack Obama, “In my view, nothing has really changed.”
