Electric Stations to Replace Gas Stations

Feb 10, 2009 – See The New York Times of Feb 9, 2009 to read “Running on Fumes No More.” Shai Agassi, the founder of Better Place, has been promoting electric car recharging centers before gasoline went to over $4 per gallon. President Barack Obama has been pushing the idea of renewable energy and reducing the consumption of foreign oil. Agassi was previously a software entrepreneur and CTO at SAP, which had purchased his company. Consumers are rightfully concerned about the availability of recharging stations before they consider the purchase of an all-electric vehicle to take on a lengthy trip. All electric vehicles are currently best suited to metro vehicles to be used for day trips and then recharged at home or at a business location at night. Agassi is very busy making progress to develop recharging stations. Better Place is beginning to build prototype battery-charging stations in Israel, Denmark and Japan. It has also signed agreements in Hawaii and around San Francisco. Of course, lithium-ion battery technology needs to be improved to shorten the time to recharge. With a gasoline vehicle it is on its way as soon as there is gasoline in the tank. One does not have to wait several hours to recharge the battery.

My business partner has invented a Rapid Recharge Station that charges up these batteries with 10 to 15 minutes.

Love what Project Better Place is doing!!
