Save Energy Easily & Save Money
Dec 4, 2008 – This post isn’t about large energy conservation programs, solar and wind farms and major tax credit programs. This is something you can do this weekend and get a headstart on your New Year’s resolutions. Lowe’s is running a sale on CFL light bulbs, now $4.98 for 3 60 watt equivalent bulbs. [I’m going to buy a pack as that is the prize in our best comment on how I can backup my hard drive and also keep my computer on for the minimum amount of time. Search to see post.] 100 watt equivalent bulbs are $9.98 for 3 bulbs. You will save $35 per year. In other words, your pay back will be several months. Weatherstripping is also highlighted in the ad. They claim you will save up $1,375 over 5 years [that is $275 per year but it sounds more when the savings are for 5 years.] Both items are easy to install and will save you energy and money in any part of the country whether you are saving on heating or cooling. They are very easy to install and do not take much time so you will be able to enjoy your weekend. Combine your stop at Lowe’s with your trip for holiday shopping to save on gasoline usage. Multiply the energy and dollar savings by millions of households. These items are also available at other hardware & department stores.
