CNBC “Is Green the Next Bubble?” Segment
Oct 28, 2008 – CNBC ran a segment today called “Is Green the Next Bubble?” with Erin Burnett interviewing Eric Janszen of Itulip.com and Michael Shellenberger of the Breakthrough Institute. Janszen said he is still looking for the time when make investments in alternative energy companies. He also stated that the US has to be thoughtful on how it invests in infrastructure. We can’t just throw money at producing jobs. The outcome should be that we come out with a system that is the most competitive in the world. Michael Shellenberger, of the Breakthrough Institute, feels the investment prospects for alternative energy are better than ever. The environmental lobby’s efforts to fight global warming are going to have to adjust to the facts of the current economies of the world.
Obama wants to spend $15 billion per year on clean energy over the next 10 years. McCain emphasis is more on offshore drilling and nuclear energy development, although Obama is also willing to back offshore drilling.
