USEC Expanding US Centrifuge Plant to Enrich Nuclear Fuel
Aug 19, 2008 – USEC Inc, [USEC], a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel for commercial nuclear power plants, announced today that it is building new facilities and adding jobs at its Piketown, OH plant. USEC estimates that the American Centrifuge Plant will create approximately 3,300 direct and indirect jobs in Ohio, and more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs at manufacturing sites across the United States. This commercial uranium enrichment facility is the only one in the USA using US-owned centrifuge technology.
