Wind Powers 100% of Pangea Organics Facility
Pangea Organics is known for its green, ecocentric body care products. The company maintains the Pangea Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching and teaching aspects of sustainable living and business practices.
Pangea Organic’s entire facility (both factories and offices), which borders the University of Colorado campus in Boulder, became 100% wind-powered in 2006. Initially, the wind power was offsetting the business usage of 3,000 kWh per month, the equivalent of eliminating 262,000 pounds of CO2 emissions in 4 years.
Pangea Organics helps cut down on gasoline use and CO2 emission by giving mass transit passes to employees. Also, they provide 500 square feet of their facility for lockers and showers for employees who bike to work.
