Chevy Volt [Electric Plug-In] Prototype Nearly Ready
Aug 15, 2008 – Bob Boniface , Director of Design for Chevrolet Volt GM , a plug-in electric car, released new design photos and said production-ready prototypes would be ready in 10 days! BUT, that does not mean the Volt will be here before 2010. There is still much work to be done on the car’s battery that may cost up to $10,000.
Bob states that the design is more than just aesthetics. The design is aerodynamic so that it reduces drag while still being a compelling design. This is extremely important if the Volt is to be able to drive 40 miles using only electricity and maximize the life of the battery.
Bob will hold a chat on GMnext.com next Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 3.00 to 4:00 pm EDT.
